  • A bit of history

The Alpine F1 Team is the modern incarnation of Renault’s long legacy in Formula 1 — a manufacturer with deep racing roots. Renault first entered F1 in the 1970s, pioneering turbocharged engines and winning titles with Fernando Alonso in 2005 and 2006. After multiple exits and re-entries as a works team, Renault rebranded to Alpine in 2021 — showcasing its sportscar brand while retaining its Enstone-based chassis team and French engine program.

Throughout its history as Benetton, Renault, and now Alpine, the team has produced championship moments, midfield battles, and some of the sport’s most memorable partnerships and rivalries.

    2024 Season
Drivers: Esteban Ocon & Pierre Gasly

A turbulent and underwhelming year. Early technical and leadership shakeups destabilize the team’s trajectory. Performance dips sharply relative to rivals, and Ocon and Gasly face limited opportunities to score points. Both drivers are solid but hampered by poor qualifying and inconsistent race pace. Internal restructuring, including new technical appointments, points to a rebuilding phase. Midfield competitiveness fades as Alpine slips toward the lower half of the grid.

    2023 Season
Drivers: Esteban Ocon & Pierre Gasly

A season of ups and downs. Alpine remain a solid midfield presence, but fail to challenge the front-runners. Ocon earns a surprise podium in Monaco, while Gasly takes P3 in the Spa Sprint — highlighting the car’s occasional potential. However, intra-team tension surfaces, and multiple senior figures (including team principal Otmar Szafnauer) depart mid-season. The team ends P6 in the constructors' standings, but the campaign leaves more questions than answers.

    2022 Season
Drivers: Esteban Ocon & Fernando Alonso

Alpine win the midfield war, finishing P4 in the constructors’ championship, narrowly beating McLaren. The car is fast but fragile, and tension builds as Alonso grows frustrated with reliability issues — eventually announcing his departure to Aston Martin. Ocon remains consistent and scores steadily throughout the year. Despite the strong result, internal tension and contract drama (including the Oscar Piastri saga) dominate headlines.
