In Dutch GP qualifying, Lando Norris secured pole position, edging out Max Verstappen by 0.346 seconds at ZANDVOORT, Netherlands. Norris impressed by setting a blazing fast final lap time of 1:09.673, surpassing Verstappen's previous best effort.

The McLaren driver, who is 78 points behind Verstappen in the championship, is his nearest competitor. However, he has been unable to turn his two other pole positions into wins this season.

He holds the unfortunate distinction of consistently losing the lead within the first corner in all five Formula One races where he started from pole position.

Oscar Piastri, Norris' teammate at McLaren, will begin the race from third place, with George Russell in fourth driving for Mercedes.

Despite speculation that he could be replaced before the summer break, Sergio Perez held on to his Red Bull seat for the remainder of the season and qualified in fifth place at Zandvoort, outpacing Charles Leclerc in the fastest Ferrari.

Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso qualified in seventh position, ahead of Alex Albon's Williams in eighth, Lance Stroll's second Aston Martin in ninth, and Pierre Gasly in tenth place.

Carlos Sainz missed out on advancing to Q3 by a margin of 0.069 seconds, attributing his setback to being held up by Nico Hulkenberg's Haas in some of Zandvoort's high-speed corners as conveyed over team radio.

In the qualifying session, Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton secured the 12th spot, trailing by 0.103 seconds from a top 10 position and 0.452 seconds from the fastest Q2 time set by Norris. However, Hamilton received a three-place grid penalty.

As a result, he will now start from 15th place, following a summons to the stewards due to an accusation of impeding by Perez during the initial qualifying session. Despite Perez making it to Q2, he had to utilize an additional set of soft tyres, leaving him with only one fresh tyre for Q3.

Yuki Tsunoda will line up in 13th place on the grid for RB, with the two Haas drivers, Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen, behind him in 14th and 15th positions.

Daniel Ricciardo narrowly missed out on progressing to Q2 by 0.111 seconds as he couldn't improve on his final timed lap in Q1, resulting in a 16th place start. Esteban Ocon secured the 17th fastest time, leading the two Sauber drivers, Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu, who will start in 18th and 19th places respectively.

Following a significant crash during the final practice session in wet conditions, Williams was unable to repair Logan Sargeant's car in time for him to participate in qualifying. Consequently, the American driver will commence the race from the back of the grid.
