A bit of history
The Italian Grand Prix has been part of the Formula 1 World Championship every single year since its inception in 1950, making it one of only two races (alongside the British GP) to appear uninterrupted on every F1 calendar.
Its history stretches even further back, with non-championship races held as early as 1921
Since 1949, it has been almost exclusively held at Monza, Italy’s “Temple of Speed”
The race is deeply tied to Ferrari’s history, the Tifosi fanbase, and Italian national pride — making it one of the most emotional and atmospheric races in the sport.
Located in a royal park just outside Milan, Monza is the fastest circuit in Formula 1, with average speeds exceeding 250 km/h
Famous for:
Long straights and tight chicanes (Rettifilo, Roggia).
Historic corners like Lesmo, Ascari, and the iconic Parabolica (now renamed Curva Alboreto).
Minimal downforce setups, favoring top speed over grip.
Originally home to banked oval sections, parts of which still remain as haunting remnants of motorsport’s raw past.
