A bit of history

The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the oldest and most prestigious races in motorsport. First held in 1929, it became part of the inaugural Formula 1 World Championship in 1950 and has remained a near-constant presence on the calendar since 1955.

  • It's part of the Triple Crown of Motorsport, alongside the Indy 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans

  • Known as “the race every driver dreams of winning”, regardless of championship standings

Legendary Moments

  • Ayrton Senna holds the record for six Monaco wins, including his dominant 1988 pole lap — over a second faster than teammate Alain Prost

  • Graham Hill, nicknamed “Mr. Monaco”, won it five times in the 1960s

  • Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton both earned multiple wins here — though not without dram
